I absolutely love this place and it is truly a hidden gem in Montclair. The best Haitian cuisine I have ever experienced and an absolutely beautiful atmosphere, highly recommended for dining enthusiasts.
Our food tasted amazing tonight. My wife had the crab & shrimp etoufe and it was perfect! The spice level, seasoning, and texture; the dish in its entirety gets 5 . I absolutely enjoyed every bite. Paired with plantain and veggies, I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys seafood and spice.

Amazing food! I only wish I could afford to come eat here everyday! Beautifully decorated inside! The owner Ron was very friendly. He chatted with us for a little. Service was on point! Plates were cleared as soon as we were done. I've been looking for a Haitian restaurant for sometime. Most are too far or just take out places. So when we drove by accidentally. We had to come back and try the food. Did not disappoint! Everything was delicious. Beef Legume was delicious. Goat Stew was good, hubby loved it, I'm not a fan of goat though. Montego Bay Beef was excellent. Griot Mi Casa was perfect, not too greasy but nice and crispy. The Mambo Gumbo was SPICY! Be warned Bouillion Creole was perfect. Black rice was good but too much cloves for my taste. Passion Fruit Mango was yummy. Lemonade was refreshing.
What a hidden gem in Montclair that I hope does not remain hidden much longer. The elevated food at this Haitian restaurant was surpassed only by the attentive service and warm ambience of this delightful, welcoming place. From the empanadas to the curried chicken, not to mention the perfectly dressed salads and of course the star of the show, mushroom black rice, everything was excellent. This may have been our first visit to Saveur Creole, but it won't be our last.
Absolutely great cuisine! Great vibes! Modern twists, so it is fine for people that are not used to Haitian cuisine. Chef Mompoint and his Haitian staff are doing great! Get the lalo!! Haitian caviar and conch ceviche were super tasty as well!
WOW. What an experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with such a welcoming warmth. The beautiful Haitian themed art added such a special touch to the atmosphere as well. As a part of the Haitian diaspora, enjoying cuisine from the island is one of my favorite past times. Saveur Creole exceeded all expectations! Every single bite was simply amazing- from the delicious marinades, to the savory empanadas, the mouth watering griot & pikliz, the savory plantains, the freshly made branzino and the flavor packed rice & beans. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I must also commend the Haitian lemonade. The first sip instantly brought me back to spending hot summer days sipping on this refreshing lime based drink on the porch with my grandmother. Very nostalgic. I was seeking a Haitian restaurant where I could introduce my boyfriend to the food from my beautiful home island. He was equally as impressed by our meal and very happy to have been exposed to our culture. Thank you Saveur Creole for adding another reason to an already long list of why I am proud to be Haitian. We are truly grateful, not only for the delicious food, but for the unforgettable memory this experience created for us. We look forward to enjoying MANY more meals here in the future!
Food so good everyone was silent. I wish I took pictures but man the food was amazing. The location is amazing and well decorated. The owner was kind and very helpful.
